Planetary research is a cooperative project that all players on a planet can contribute to. Unlike personal research, planetary research uses scientists assigned specifically to the project and benefits the entire planet when completed. The Researcher class gets a 2x bonus on their scientist contributions.
Any player can assign their free scientists to the planetary research project. Each turn, all assigned scientists across the planet generate research points toward the current project. Players can also donate sellable RP directly to the project to speed it up — if the donation pushes the project over the completion threshold, it finishes instantly. When a project completes, all assigned scientists are returned to their owners.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Research cost | 100,000,000 RP |
| Power consumption | 100,000,000 treasury power/turn |
| Output | 100,000,000 credits + 100,000,000 metal per turn (to treasury) |
| Toggle | Leader or vice leader can activate/deactivate |
| Auto-shutdown | Deactivates if treasury power is insufficient |
The Resource Generator is the first planetary research project. Once completed, the planet leader or vice leader can toggle it on. While active, it consumes a massive amount of treasury power each turn but produces equally massive amounts of credits and metal into the treasury. If the treasury runs out of power, the generator automatically shuts down.
